🚧🚧 Ekstrand Playground Update 🚧🚧
Construction is underway of the new playground at Ekstrand Elementary. The crew arrived on site Monday night and is in the process of putting the structure together. The project is projected to take three days to complete. The playground surface is then scheduled to arrive next week. We will continue to provide updates regarding the progress of the project! We have some very excited students and staff!!

Today the FFA Officers did an awesome event at DeWitt Randy’s Neighborhood Market! They hosted all the 2nd-grade students and teachers from Ekstrand and took them on a tour of the store. They visited the produce, meat, dairy, frozen food sections. They also visited the bakery where they each got a cookie after learning about how farmers grow the ingredients to make them! We want to thank Randy's Neighborhood Market for hosting the event!

Fourth and 5th graders had a great time creating music with Boomwhackers during music class last week. Boomwhackers are tuned percussion tubes made of material which produce a specific note and pitch when they hit a surface. The length of the tube affects the pitch, so the shorter the tube, the higher the pitch. What a fun way to play music!
