We are incredibly proud to share that 4th grader Marley Morris was recognized on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. last week! 🇺🇸

U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks honored Marley for her inspiring work making and donating 100 bracelets for children battling cancer at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

And Marley isn’t slowing down! She’s bringing beads to school so her classmates can help create even more bracelets for kids who could use a little extra joy this season. Help us celebrate Marley—an incredible example of compassion, service, and true Saber heart! 💛💜

💛💜 IMAGINE OUR STUDENTS’ FACES WHEN THEY WALKED INTO SCHOOL YESTERDAY… 💛💜

To celebrate the 67th day of school, teachers and staff across the district had some fun with a playful nod to “6–7.” Classrooms were decorated, festive shirts were worn, students worked on fun 6–7 themed projects, and surprises greeted kids at every turn.

At CDIS, the morning announcements were packed with 6-7 references and Officer Witt delivered a perfectly timed “6–7” joke for “Witty Wednesday.” During the day, each grade level even got a playful reminder that they had “6–7 minutes” before lunch and recess.

💛💜 Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for making 6–7 Day such a fun and memorable surprise for our kids! Your creativity and enthusiasm made the 67th day of school unforgettable. 🎉

🎄 Central DeWitt FFA and Central DeWitt National Honor Society students spent Monday morning spreading holiday cheer at Fieldstone of DeWitt, a WellSpire Community. Students decorated Christmas trees throughout the building and, once the final ornaments were hung, they serenaded residents with festive holiday music. 🏀 The Central DeWitt Saber Athletic Boosters are gearing up for one of their biggest fundraisers of the year—the 2026 Saber Shootout—and they’re asking for the community’s support!

They are inviting parents and community members to consider donating a couple of hours to help run the concession stand and/or contribute individually wrapped baked goods to sell. Whether volunteers are available for a little time on Saturday, January 3rd (boys) or Sunday, January 4th (girls), their involvement plays a key role in supporting current and future Saber athletes.

Over the past 10 years, the Saber Athletic Boosters have proudly donated more than $500,000 to ALL Central DeWitt athletic programs. Support during events like the Saber Shootout helps ensure athletes have what they need to shine on the court, on the field, and everywhere in between.

🎷On Saturday, Mr. Knowles and three CDMS students braved the weather to perform at the 10th Annual Quad City Saxophone Christmas at NorthPark Mall!

Organized by St. Ambrose University, this festive event brings together dozens of local saxophone players for a holiday concert featuring classic Christmas music.
