Substitute Teachers

To substitute teach at Central DeWitt CSD the State of Iowa requires a current teacher’s license or Iowa substitute authorization license.

The substitute teacher authorization is available for candidates who have an associate degree or at least 60 semester hours of post-secondary education. Candidates for this authorization also complete a substitute teacher course as a prerequisite. The substitute authorization is valid for five years. You can renew your authorization after that time by completing two continuing education credits and a mandatory reporter training course.
