🍕 THANK YOU to The Education Foundation of Central DeWitt and to everyone who purchased or donated a pizza during their fundraiser to kick off Homecoming Week! Thanks to our community’s generosity, 200 pizzas were delivered to local businesses and residents— 37 pizzas went straight to our schools!

This fundraiser supports such an important cause, with proceeds going directly toward educator grants that enhance learning opportunities for our students. 💛

And the fun doesn’t stop there—swing by the DeWitt Farmers Market on Thursday before the parade to grab a pork chop sandwich or hot dog from the DeWitt Nite Lions and The Education Foundation. Proceeds from this event will also support educator grants!

We’re so grateful for a community that gives back in such meaningful (and delicious) ways. 💜

📚🌎 This week CDHS Spanish 3 & 4 students teamed up with 5th grade ELA for a special lesson on the Aztec, Inca, and Maya civilizations. Spanish students designed creative activities that tied into the 5th graders’ current unit while also adding elements of the Spanish language. This cross-grade partnership made history come alive and created a unique learning experience for everyone involved! 🙌

🛝 Learning never looked so fun! Our Peer STEM class was inspired to design and build their very own playground equipment after Ms. Smith read them Recess Time. Mrs. Jackson’s 4th–8th graders worked with their peer helpers using critical thinking to problem solve, communication to collaborate, and initiative to bring their ideas to life. The grand finale? Bringing all their designs together to form one ultimate playground!

It’s hands-on learning like this that builds useful skills for today and tomorrow and is teamwork, and creativity at its best! 💡🙌
