Registration is open for our new Saber Cubs Care before and after school child care program, launching in the 2025–2026 school year! This program will provide high-quality care for Central DeWitt students in Pre-K through 3rd grade before school, after school, and on select non-school days—offering valuable flexibility and support for parents and guardians.

We anticipate strong interest in the program, and space may be limited, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Official registration for PK-3rd grade child care will open on Tuesday, July 15th. Space may be limited, so we encourage families to register early. A registration link will be emailed to PK-3rd grade families that morning and shared on our social media.

We had an absolute blast being a part of the 4th of July parade on Friday! Our amazing Marching Sabers Pride kicked things off, followed by school board members, administrators, teachers, students—and of course, Slash brought the Saber spirit! For the second year in a row, Mrs. Hofer’s 5th grade class was honored to receive the Project Jack Grant from the REALTOR® Foundation of Iowa! 🎉 This $250 grant is awarded to 4th and 5th grade classrooms across Iowa to support pay-it-forward projects that make a positive impact in their communities. Mrs. Hofer’s class chose to create Birthday Boxes to donate to the DeWitt Referral Center & Thrift Store. Each box includes a cake mix, frosting, a pan, candles, balloons, and a birthday card — everything needed to celebrate someone special. Visitors to the Referral Center can choose a Birthday Box to help celebrate a friend or family member. 🎂🎈 Project Jack began in the Quad Cities in memory of Jack Lindaman, and it continues to inspire kindness and compassion in students across the state. Mrs. Hofer shared that the lessons her students learn from this experience are some her favorite and most meaningful.
