ATTENTION 16-24 YEAR OLDS! Test drive career opportunities at this great event on October 4th! There will be multiple simulators on site for the attendees to try out a career: commercial drivers simulator, John Deere welding simulator, Alliant Energy is bringing in the poke truck and electrical training simulator, MVWDA will have virtual reality headsets on-site that have 100+ job simulations programmed that an individual can try a job while standing in an open room. What a great way to explore career options! CDHS students who are interested should contact Mrs. Schaible or Holly Hansen.

Several juniors and seniors took advantage of visiting the University of Iowa yesterday. Students were able to participate in an admissions presentation, get a tour of campus and eat in the dining hall. Way to go Sabers on exploring your postsecondary options! Next week students will get an opportunity to explore the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Today, our incredible CDIS Kindness Crew, along with a few Central DeWitt High School volunteers, came together to create an extra special start to the day for our students. As our students arrived at school, they were greeted with warm smiles, high-fives, and words of encouragement from these group members. It's all part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for every student.

Congratulations to Central DeWitt Intermediate School and Central DeWitt Middle School for being named as 2023 National Unified Champion Schools! Only three schools in Iowa were chosen and we had two of them! That’s incredible! Special Olympics Iowa will come at a later date to present the banner and hold an assembly to celebrate!
National Unified Champion Schools are chosen based on having “an inclusive school climate and exudes a sense of collaboration, engagement and respect for all members of the student body and staff.” They also have to meet 10 national standards of excellence.
In 2021 Central DeWitt High School was also named a National Unified Champion School. We are beyond proud to have schools that continually support, celebrate, and include everyone!

🚧🚧 Ekstrand Playground Update 🚧🚧
Construction is underway of the new playground at Ekstrand Elementary. The crew arrived on site Monday night and is in the process of putting the structure together. The project is projected to take three days to complete. The playground surface is then scheduled to arrive next week. We will continue to provide updates regarding the progress of the project! We have some very excited students and staff!!

Today the FFA Officers did an awesome event at DeWitt Randy’s Neighborhood Market! They hosted all the 2nd-grade students and teachers from Ekstrand and took them on a tour of the store. They visited the produce, meat, dairy, frozen food sections. They also visited the bakery where they each got a cookie after learning about how farmers grow the ingredients to make them! We want to thank Randy's Neighborhood Market for hosting the event!
