Future Ready Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship

  • Must be enrolling at an Iowa community college or private college with the program of study
  • Available for associate degrees, diplomas, and postsecondary certificates
  • Covers remaining cost of program after FAFSA awarded money (must file FAFSA)
  • Awarded based on admission to the college and program (NO SEPARATE APPLICATION)
  • Many programs are covered; click the link to see the list of colleges and programs

Tommy C. Capper Scholarship

  • Open to current and former CDHS students
  • Meant for students who may not otherwise be able to afford continuing education
  • Deadline is 4 months prior to the start of the college/technical program

Citizens Scholarship

  • A sweepstakes sponsored by Citizens Financial Group
  • $2,500 awarded each month
  • Grand Prize of $15,000
  • Entries automatically roll to the next month for eligibility
  • Registration form can be completed by both parent and student
  • Monthly drawing through June 2022

NHS Scholarship

  • Open to active NHS members in good standing
  • Must be enrolling at a college/university in the Fall 2022
  • Selection based on character, leadership, service, and scholarship (NHS pillars)
  • 600 awards given out nationally
  • Use De Witt (with a space) when finding our high school
  • Deadline is December 1, 2022

Hagan Scholarship

  • This is a need-based merit scholarship
  • Students must be Pell Grant eligible based off of FAFSA results
  • Applicants must have at least a 3.75 GPA
  • Must enroll at an eligible four-year college or university
  • At least 240 hours of employment must be completed during the 12 months prior to fall college enrollment
  • Awards up to $6,000 may be paid each semester up to 8 consecutive semesters
  • Deadline is December 1, 2021

Dr. Philip Sobash Scholarship

  • Open to students planning to become a doctor
  • Must be pursuing a medical degree path
  • Award of $1,000
  • Deadline is December 16, 2021

Clinton County Cattlemen Scholarship

  • Applicant (or parents) must be a current member or become a 3-year member of Clinton County Cattlemen
  • Award of at least $500 per winner
  • Deadline is January 7, 2022

Clinton County Royalty Application

  • Applicant (or parents) must be a current member or become a 3-year member of Clinton County Cattlemen
  • Award of $500-$700
  • Deadline is January 7, 2022

Quad City Regional Auto Show Trade Scholarship

  • Applicant must be planning to attend Automotive Technical/Trade School
  • Main criteria is interest in a career in the automotive industry
  • Given through the Quad Cities Community Foundation
  • Awards up to $5,000 each
  • Deadline is January 16, 2022

Quad Cities Regional Auto Show Dealership Scholarship

  • Available to students going to a 2 or 4 year college
  • Applicant must have a parent, guardian, or grandparent working full time at a new car dealership for more than a year
  • Work experience, extracurricular activities, community service and academic achievement are considered
  • Deadline is January 16, 2022

TBS Scholarship

  • Applicants must have or had an IEP during middle/high school
  • Applicants will be attending an educational program next year
  • Post-secondary institutions include private/public 4 year, community college, trade school, or other
  • Five winners will receive $2,000 each
  • Deadline is January 18, 2022

Quad City Engineering and Science Council Scholarship

  • Applicants must be pursuing a STEM degree at a college, university, community college, or skilled trade program
  • A one-time scholarship
  • Awards between $1,000-$2,500
  • Awards based on academics, community service, extracurricular involvement, career goals, and an essay on your choice of STEM degree
  • Deadline is January 25, 2022

Lynn Vermeer Youth Development Scholarship

  • Applicants must be a child or grandchild of Unity Point Health-Trinity Regional Health System
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
  • Must live within 75 miles of Illinois/Iowa Quad Cities
  • Open to any programs of study/majors
  • Preference given to applicants of financial need or extraordinary circumstances
  • Deadline is January 28, 2022

Grand Lodge of Iowa Masonic Scholarship

  • Sixty awards of $2,000 each will be awarded
  • Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education (2 year or 4 year program)
  • Masonic connection is not needed to apply
  • Emphasis will be placed on the applicant's service to their community and school
  • Deadline is February 1, 2022

Iowa Newspaper Foundation Scholarships

  • Applicants must be pursuing a career in newspapers
  • Multiple scholarships given with different criteria with one application
  • Possible majors include journalism, (mass) communications, photojournalism, graphic design, marketing
  • Deadline is February 11, 2022

CVM-Illinois Youth Mentoring Health Scholarship

  • Applicants must plan to study math, science, or the medical sciences
  • Must live within 75 miles of Illinois/Iowa Quad Cities
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
  • Cannot be a child of a practicing medical doctor
  • Up to 5 scholarships awarded
  • Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000
  • Deadline is February 11, 2022

Quad Cities Community Foundation Scholarships

  • Multiple scholarships available from one application
  • Over $500,000 in new scholarships will be awarded
  • More than 75 students in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas will be awarded
  • Awards vary from $500-10,000
  • Deadline is February 15, 2022

Mark Earl and Esther Ruth Spencer (MCEC) Technical Scholarship

  • Offered by the Grand Lodge of Iowa
  • Applicants must enroll in a mechanical or trade program
  • Programs must be at an Iowa Community College
  • Awards can be used for tuition, fees, books and tools
  • Deadline is March 1, 2022

Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship

  • Juniors and Seniors are eligible to apply
  • Applicants must have participated in the Iowa Games at least once
  • Awarded to a male and a female
  • Each award will be $1,000
  • Deadline is April 4, 2022

Charlie Burkart Scholarship

  • Given by the Iowa PGA Section
  • Applicants must have an interest and be active in golf
  • Selection criteria include the potential for future contributions to the game, leadership skills, community involvement, academic ability and financial need
  • Award of $1,000 for four years
  • Deadline is June 18, 2022

Golden Door Scholars

  • Available to undocumented students
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree
  • Tuition and room/board for up to 4 years included
  • Deadline is October 4, 2021
  • UPDATED DEADLINE is October 10, 2021

Heisman High School Scholarship

  • Applicants must have participated in one of the eligible sports (listed on the website) in grades 9, 10, or 11
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Must be a proven leader and role model in the school and community
  • Awards of $1,000 will be given at the state level (higher award levels at national level)
  • Deadline is October 19, 2021

  • Based on academic merit
  • Award of $1,000 (renewable for 3 additional years if a 3.2 GPA is maintained)

Multicultural Vision Program (MVP)

  • Applicants must be American Indian or Alaskan Native, Black/African American, Asian American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Hispanic or Latinx, or Multiracial on the application for admission
  • Student must demonstrate financial need on FAFSA
  • Must have faced personal and/or financial challenges or hardships
  • Deadline for application and FAFSA is December 1, 2021

Hixson Opportunity Award

  • This is a 1/2 tuition scholarship that can be renewed
  • Awarded to 100 students (each Iowa county awarded)
  • Financial need reflected in FAFSA
  • Applicants must have faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship
  • Deadline is December 15, 2021

George Washington Carver Full-Tuition Scholarship

  • Available to incoming multicultural freshmen
  • 100 scholarships awarded
  • Award is for full tuition
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Priority deadline is December 15, 2021

Dorothy Klindt Memorial Scholarship

  • Available to students enrolling in the College of Human Sciences
  • Recipients must live in Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine, or Scott County
  • Selection criteria includes academic work, leadership, community involvement, school or professional organization involvement
  • Preference is given to students with a demonstrated financial need
  • The priority deadline for FAFSA is January 3, 2022
